Early Mixed Media

Most of art school was a constant series of experiments in mixed media. I was not trying to create a body of work- I was focusing on pushing boundaries and developing my own techniques. These are a handfull of those projects

The Fates- hydrocal, acrylic, ink, terrra cotta clay, loose wool, and scissors.

Rose Window- Acrylic, Oil, Collage, and mica flake on wood panel. (28" diameter)

The Search for Connection- Acrylic, Oil, photo transfer, embroidery floss, embroidery needles, and paper on canvas.

Note: What is hard to see in a small image is the names on the gray labels/stones. The writing in the upper left is intentionally indistinct, but may indicate a reflection or search involving the names. The red is stitching done in embroidery floss through the canvas, over red paint.
